Katana Chance, real name Kacy Catanzaro, sat down recently for an interview with Ring the Belle. DS Shin brought up the rumor back from 2019 where Catanzaro was “released” by WWE. Catanzaro, would in fact, not be released and reemerged as a tag team with Kayden Carter. The duo have gone on to become NXT Women’s & WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Catanzaro said that Shin is really the only person to ever ask about this. She explains it started with a back injury following her first appearance in the Royal Rumble while still an NXT talent. While out with the injury, she started doubting herself on if this was really for her. Coming from a non wrestling background she felt like she was in the trenches in her early years with the company.
Catanzaro also discusses her background, starting her time in the ring with Raquel Rodriguez, tag team with Carter, and trusting Rhea Ripley. She says she would love a WrestleMania match with Ripley.
