Three women’s matches took place on this week’s NXT 2.0 including Kay Lee Ray taking on Sarray in her first match since September.
Since making the jump across the pond from NXT UK to NXT, Kay Lee Ray has been lost in the shuffle. Once NXT 2.0 rebranded the show, Ray had one match against Amari Miller and hasn’t been in the ring since. For a number of week’s vignettes aired about Ray bringing the “rage” as she hasn’t been pleased about being pushed aside. She did just that as she was successful against Sarray.
After driving Sarray into the announce table with a KLR bomb, Ray delivered an additional one for good measures once back in the ring to put her opponent away.
Prior to Ray’s dominant return, the show kicked off with Toxic Attraction taking on Io Shirai, Kacy Catanzaro, and Kayden Carter in a six-woman tag match. Toxic Attraction has been out to prove why they hold all the gold in NXT since winning the NXT Women’s & NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles at Halloween Havoc. They prove why they are on top by picking up another win.
With chaos happening on the outside between Mandy Rose/Jacy Jayne and Kacy Catanzaro/Io Shirai, Kayden Carter was distracted on the turnbuckle. This helped Gigi Dolin capitalize and deliver a finisher to get the pin on Carter.
After the match, KLR made her out to the ring for her match as she and Toxic Attraction trade glances.
Later in the night, Toxic Attraction had a promo outside as they were leaving the building. Raquel Gonzalez pulled up on her motorcycle to say that she isn’t done with Mandy Rose and to keep her title warm for her. Gonzalez headed into the building and entered the ring to address Dakota Kai.
Kai made her way out to the stage. Showing off a new side to her, Kai states that she loved hitting Gonzalez in the back with a shovel. Before she could say too much more Cora Jade attacked her from behind. Gonzalez confronted Jade and said she understands that Jade wants revenge on Kai but she will have to wait in line.
The third and final women’s match of the night was Elektra Lopez taking on newcomer Erica Yan. Yan made her debut last week on 205 Live in a losing effort against Valentina Feroz. Lopez made short work of Yan before calling out Xyon Quinn. She asks Quinn to join Legado del Fantasma which he declined. This didn’t stop the two from flirting with each other to end the segment.
Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta were in a backstage interview asking what is next for them after being fingertips away from becoming NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. Tony D’Angelo came into the conversation and sent a message to Dexter Lumis in the form of a fish.
