If you are unfamiliar with RISE (Developing Tomorrow’s Women’s Athletes), it’s a fairly new independent women’s wrestling promotion run by a man named Kevin Harvey. What started as only a seminar, has grown into its own promotion and has helped develop women’s wrestling talent for the likes of Shimmer and other promotions.
But on June 25th, Kevin Harvey posted a very open and transparent blog post on his website stating, he wasn’t sure if Rise would continue due to financial issues. After what was considered to be a successful run of consecutive shows in Naperville, IL that took place on July 7th, and 8th. Kevin Harvey announced that the pre-planned show on October 19, in Berwyn, IL will go on as planned.
Our contributor, Charley Vail with 2 Heels and A Face Wrestling Podcast, recently interviewed Kevin to dive deeper on the state of RISE, and everything they have accomplished thus far.
