The stage is about to be set for the AEW Women’s title picture on tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
First, we hear from the AEW Women’s World Champion, Mariah May, tonight and her thoughts on the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match coming up next week, to determine who will get a shot at her title at Grand Slam Australia in February. Harley Cameron interrupts the moment and challenges her to some Hot Girl Graps.
Tonight, Toni Storm, Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale will compete to determine who gets the #1 spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match. All three women have arguably had a stellar 2024, but look to get one chance closer to the World Title.
The upstart Storm shows an immediate sign of respect, but all competitors showcase what they have up their sleeves. Shenanigans ensue and Nightingale gets a shell-shocking advantage against both competitors.
Storm tries to go for a crossbody, but Statlander and Nightingale momentarily team up to toss Storm. All three end up crashing in the ring, and Nightingale manages to hit a Pounce on Statlander and hits a Death Valley Driver on Storm only for a two count.
All three competitors try to score the pinfall, but in the end, Statlander hits the piledriver on Storm and gets the win and the #1 spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match.
We catch up with Storm after the match, and says that she just isn’t “ready.” Unfortunately, it can’t be Toni Time all the time, but gives props to both women.
