After an eventful AEW Dynasty this past weekend, we continue onward with the Owen Hart Cup Tournament at AEW Dynamite tonight.
First, Renee Paquette catches up with Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford after Bayne’s unsuccessful attempt at the AEW Women’s World Championship at Dynasty. Bayne sets her sights on Collision this Saturday, as she vows to make the women’s division bow down.
Kris Statlander and Thunder Rosa will face off in a first-round match in the Owen Hart Cup. On commentary for this match is AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, who had a successful defense against Bayne at Dynasty.
Both former champions are on an even playing field, with Rosa driving Statlander to the outside but Statlander being able to return the offense.
Rosa looks to go full-fledged luchadora against Statlander, but Statlander has an answer for her offense. Statlander fights through a couple of two counts but manages to catch her again, this time with a Staturday Night Fever to advance in the tournament.
