Kris Statlander is back from injury and was featured during the main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite. Statlander has been out of action since June of last year due to needing surgery for a torn ACL. Her return happened during the Arcade Anarchy match to reignite her feud with Penelope Ford.
The match was a tag team match between Miro & Kip Sabian vs. Orange Cassidy & Chuck Taylor. Midway through the match, Ford interjected herself into the match by pulling the referee out of the ring while she was making the count. Ford then took her attention to Cassidy by delivering a low blow. With the arcade games surrounding the ring, Ford was by a claw machine. Up out of the machine pops Statlander to make her return. She pushed the window of the machine and into Ford.
Statlander marched towards her old rival and Ford lays a slap across her face. The two wind up on the ring apron and Statlander takes Ford out through a air hockey table on the outside. Moments later Trent would return from being out for months alongside his Mom to assist as well. Cassidy & Taylor win the match and they celebrate with Trent and Statlander post match in the ring.
The Bunny & Nyla Rose defeated AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida & Tay Conti
In a big win for The Bunny & Nyla Rose they go over on the AEW Women’s Champion and the top woman in the rankings. While the referee was distracted by both the chaos on the outside of the ring mixed with Vickie Guerrero on the ring apron, The Bunny took advantage. She clobbered Conti with a kendo stick to get the three count and the win for her team. After the match, the Hardy Family Office would celebrate the win on the stage.
Other moments for the women for the show include Jade Cargill and Red Velvets rivalry heating up. Red Velvet came rushing out to the ringside area to help her friend Cody Rhodes when QT Marshall turned on him. Marshall was about to slam a steel chair on Cody’s head as he was caught between Marshall’s boot and the steel steps. Red Velvet reasoned with Marshall who backed off from the attack.
Afterward, Velvet was being interviewed in the back in regards to her coming to make the save. Cargill would then attack her and after throwing her rival into the equipment boxes said, “You made me break my heel. I already told you, I’m that bitch.”
Britt Baker and Rebel were also seen promoting AEW Dark: Elevation on Monday nights. Baker continued to taunt Thunder Rosa.
