Kristal Marshall: “They Did Not Want A Lot Of The Divas To Wrestle”

In a new interview, former WWE Diva Kristal Marshall sat down and spoke with Timmy Baltimore on his podcast Limpin Ain’t Easy. Marshall spoke on her two year run with the company as she was a Diva Search contestant in 2005.

While speaking, Marshall gave an example to Baltimore about how she wanted to wrestle and not just be backstage reporter or correspondent (which she started on SmackDown as such).

”I wanted to wrestle. They did not want a lot of the Divas to wrestle, and specifically, they picked and choose who they wanted to. For example, when I was going through the diva search I remember vividly Kevin Dunn backstage, this was when we were going out to do some silly talent thing or whatever in a segment, and he’s telling the girls they have to come up with something to do. He’s going down the line asking each girl what they are going to do and he stops at Ashley, who bless her soul…I remember he stops at Ashley and he goes, you’re going to do a monkey flip. So I go, does that mean I get to do a wrestling move also and he goes ‘no.’ And I said, ‘that’s not fair’ and he leans over and tells me, ‘life’s not fair.’ I never forgot that.”

Marshall’s last was at SummerSlam in 2007 during a Battle Royal which was won by Beth Phoenix.
