Lady Frost steps up to Deonna Purrazzo; Steelz vs. Green set to determine number one contender

This week’s IMPACT! witnessed Deonna Purrazzo continuing to have her open challenges. As a double champion, Purrazzo has been putting one belt on the line weekly for anyone who is interested in trying to take gold away from The Virtuosa. So far, she has already successfully defended against the likes of Santana Garrett and Miranda Alize.

This time, Lady Frost answered the challenge. Throughout the match, Purrazzo targets the knee of Frost and at one point drills it into the ring apron. Fighting through her knee pain, Frost ends up executing a moonsault and eventually lands a handspring cannonball in the corner. She is unable to capitalize due to her knee and Purrazzo locks in Venus de Milo. She gets the submission and retains the AAA Reina de Reinas Title.

After the match, The Quintessential Diva Gisele Shaw, continues to steal the spotlight. She made her way to the ring and posed for the crowd.

Also on IMPACT! Jordynne Grace tried yet again to recapture the Digital Media Championship back from Matt Cardona. This time the two did battle in a no disqualification, no count-outs DotCombat match. The two battled with equipment such as keyboards, cell phones, and a DVD player.

This match came about after Grace was disqualified last week by delivering a low blow. This time she tried again under no DQ rules but Cardona was wearing a cup. After Cardona removed the cup, Grace was able to get a low blow but does not stay down and Grace gets a near fall. The match ends when Grace goes through a steel chair that was set up in the corner and Cardona rolls her up while using the ropes as leverage to get the pin and retain the title.

There were two segments aired that build up towards IMPACT’s next special which is Sacrifice on March 5.

Kaleb with a K has been tremendously distracted by The IInspiration and Tenille Dashwood feels he was the reason she lost to Havok at No Surrender. Kaleb received a call from the tag champs during Dashwood’s one-on-one and it distracted her enough that Havok picked up the win. The IInspiration and The Influence end up getting into a verbal argument as Kaleb separates them. The match for the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles is confirmed for Sacrifice but Cassie Lee will go one-on-one with Madison Rayne next week.

Next, we join the Knockouts World Champion Mickie James along with Chelsea Green in Gail Kim‘s office. James retained her championship at No Surrender against Tasha Steelz and would like to award Chelsea Green with a championship shot at Sacrifice.

Steelz interrupts the conversation and things get tense to the point that Gail has booked a match between Steelz and Green for next week. The winner will become the number one contender and face James at Sacrifice. James says she will keep an eye out on Savannah Evans to make sure there is no interference but Green says she needs to go at this alone.

Lastly, Alisha took part in the main event segment. Her husband, Eddie Edwards, betrayed Team IMPACT at No Surrender and sided with Honor No More. Alisha felt hurt that Eddie would not only turn his back on his IMPACT family but feels he has turned his back on her and his actual family. He calls Honor No More his new family and she has to make a decision. He leaves the ring with Honor No More as Alisha looks on from the ring.
