Latest News On Several Injured AEW Talent

There are several injuries in the AEW women’s division. Fightful Select has provided some news on how three talents are progressing.

First, Hikaru Shida has been dealing with a finger injury and she has been back in Japan. Shida worked the Jericho Cruise in early February but has not had any other matches so far in 2023. Her last televised match was in December on Elevation.

Next is Kris Statlander. Statlander confirmed in August that she had torn her ACL and had subsequent successful surgery. Her last match was on Dark in August. Despite this injury which can have someone out for nine months to a year, she has been backstage at several AEW shows in recent months. There is no official word on when she will be cleared.

Lastly, Leyla Hirsch. The last update on Hirsch was that she was “slowly getting there” after having her knee surgery in May. There was further word that she’d resumed in-ring training recently. She has been injured since last April.

Outside of these updates, Tay Conti has confirmed recently that she is not cleared to compete. She has been sidelined with an injury since mid-January after the street fight in which she teamed up with Anna Jay to face Ruby Soho and Ruby Nightingale. Her injury is back protrusions also referred to as bulging discs. She says she is improving “good” and has hopes that she will be “cleared in the next couple weeks.”
