When NXT UK closed its doors to make way for the upcoming NXT Europe brand, Meiko Satomura was the NXT UK Women’s Champion, a title she held until the Unification Match at NXT Worlds Collide. Mandy Rose, the NXT Women’s Champion, would win the match and Satomura’s reign would come to an end.
Since NXT Worlds Collide, Satomura has only wrestled one match on the September 6th episode of NXT with a win over Roxanne Perez. She has not competed since and there has been little news on her status until now.
During the Feb. 2 Vengeance Day media call, Shawn Michaels had this to say regarding Satomura and Ilja Dragunov, another NXT UK Alumni:
“Much like several months ago, we want them here and love having them here. A lot of it is availability, a lot of it is, as you said, visa issues. A lot of it, also, that is a big career move and life difference. Those are all things we want people to consider before they make that move. Nothing would thrill me more than to have Ilja and Meiko here on a regular basis. They are phenomenal talent. We’re thrilled about Gallus being back and Tyler (Bate) being back. As far as who is to come in the future, a lot of that is up to the talent themselves and, also, there are visa issues, but we’re waiting on a long-term commitment from some people and we understand that’s not an easy decision to make.” – (Credit to Fightful.com)
There are no indications of when Satomura may make her return to NXT at this time. As of this writing, she is currently still listed as a member of the NXT roster on WWE.com.
Recently Stevie Turner made her in-ring debut on NXT, she joins Isla Dawn as former NXT UK talent making the move to NXT.
Blair Davenport, who was also in the match at NXT Worlds Collide, has also not appeared since then.
