Leah Van Dale, known as Carmella to a WWE audience, did not have her contract renewed last month after 12 years with the company.
On the recent Barely Famous podcast with Kailyn Lowry, Van Dale spoke out about what took place. She says that she was notified 10 days prior to her contract expiring. No help with a new one and she felt ghosted.
“Let’s have the conversations that women aren’t having…is it because I’m a woman? Because I had a baby? It just feels like a shitty way to end a 12 year career with the company.”
Van Dale states she felt like she was being punished for having a baby. When suggested by Lowry that WWE could change their mind, the former Carmella says why be somewhere where someone doesn’t want you.
