A leaked document obtained by Fox Sports Asia seems to indicate that WWE 2K20 will feature Becky Lynch as the new cover star. In addition, Chyna will appear as a playable character for the first time in 19 years.
It would be the first time a female superstar would appear on the front cover of a WWE 2K game. Also, the first time a female superstar appeared on the cover at all since Torrie Wilson appeared on the front cover, alongside John Cena and a host of other male superstars for Smackdown vs. RAW 2007.
Lynch spoke on the possibility of gracing the cover of a WWE video game in a recent interview with Comicbook.com.
“Oh, I think it’s so important, absolutely,” Lynch said. “I mean, that’s been a goal.”
The cover of WWE 2K is a prestigious honor, awarded to the top star in the company. Becky recognizes the significance of this acknowledgment.
“It’s just a matter of being the top player, the biggest face of this company. To make your name in this business, that’s what I want. That’s what I’m shooting for, and the video game cover would be a nice little stepping stone.”
Chyna will make her first appearance in a WWE video game since WWF Smackdown 2: Know Your Role back in 2000. “The 9th of the World” will reportedly be a Pre-Order bonus. Fans should expect to see her appear in the game alongside D-Generation-X, who recently enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame in April.
The leak also alleges the Women’s Revolution will be the centerpiece of WWE 2K Showcase mode. Hopefully, this will finally be the year gamers will be able to play through My Career mode with a female Superstar.
