Lei’d Tapa returning to the ring in her debut on AEW Dark

Former TNA talent Lei’d Tapa is returning to the ring. It has been announced that she will be facing KiLynn King on AEW Dark this coming Tuesday. The German-born athlete, with her intimidating demeanor, was paired with Gail Kim after she was a participant on TNA’s Gut Check in 2013.

She was active in TNA’s developmental organization of OVW where she is a former three-time OVW Women’s Champion. She ranks third as the most days combined as champion.

Her last match on record was in 2017 at an NXT taping where she faced Ember Moon in a losing effort. Prior to that, Tapa hadn’t wrestled since 2015. She has also participated in two MMA bouts with a record of 0-2.

As for her competitor, KiLynn King, she has become a staple for AEW Dark but has yet to pick up a win. Her last loss was against Diamante & Ivelisse in a tag team match with Savannah Evans.

In addition to Tapa’s return to the ring, there will be a tag team match on this week’s Dark. Leyla Hirsch and Elayna Black will return and team up to face the team of Brandi Rhodes and Red Velvet.

Hirsch recently made her debut with AEW Dark to face the AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida in a non-title match. She then had a big match on Dynamite to face the new NWA World Women’s Champion, Serena Deeb. Hirsch came up on the losing end in both matches. Black lost to Velvet in her Dark match earlier in October.
