Lisa Marie Varon’s Impact On TNA

After a seven year stint in WWE that included two Women’s Championship reigns, Lisa Marie Varon joined TNA in 2009 as Tara and it was that promotion that solidified her legacy on the world of women’s wrestling. From her five Knockouts Championship reigns to memorable feuds with the likes of Madison Rayne and Awesome Kong, her place in TNA history is cemented with great matches and great stories.

A standout match is a Falls Count Anywhere war with Mickie James:

Tara’s first Knockouts Championship reigns came against Angelina Love and along the way came four more in a span of four years, building her legacy in TNA during the Dixie Carter years.

She also teamed up with Madison and later Brooke Tessmacher (The latter won the Knockouts Tag Team Championship), proving that she more than just a solo player. Being the tag team champion allowed Varon to help build and guide a growing Brooke, as well as groom her for singles glory over the Knockouts Championship in their feud.

She even has had matches with some of SHIMMER’s mainstays like Alissa Flash and Jade, getting big wins along the way. The impact she has made in TNA is amazing and although she isn’t in their Hall of Fame, she should be in the future. Her resume speaks for itself and while she is still an active wrestler outside of the company, Tara’s a name that still brings some credibility.

Tara was a reason I watched TNA for those years, I have to thank her for it. While people come and go in regards to TNA, many of them left their legacies in the company during their stay. If I say so myself, Tara proved you can leave a legacy outside of the WWE as one of the greatest Knockouts ever.
