Becky Lynch now knows who her next challenger is for the RAW Women’s Champion and that woman is Liv Morgan.
After Lynch seemingly was ready to move on from Bianca Belair last week stating that the EST is now in the back of the line, Morgan showed up to throw her name out there as her next challenger. Morgan would have to earn her shot as she was one of five women to battle it out on this week’s RAW in a number one contender match. She faced her other four teammates [Rhea Ripley, Queen Zelina, Bianca Belair, and Carmella] for the upcoming Survivor Series elimination match in a Fatal Five-way.
Prior to the Fatal Five-way taking place, other members of the RAW women’s roster felt slighted that they weren’t part of the number one contenders match and/or the upcoming Survivor Series match. Those included Nikki A.S.H., Dana Brooke, and Doudrop. Doudrop called out Belair in particular for being included in these matches as she should be in the back of the line as far as championship contenders go.
With Becky Lynch on commentary throughout the match, the five women that participated had plenty of time to showcase their skills. Each woman had moments where they nearly became the number one contender. Ripley and Belair showcased the most strength throughout the match while Carmella and Queen Zelina often aligned with each other to try and earn the championship opportunity. In the end, though it would be Morgan using her smarts to capitalize on Doudrop’s interference.
Off of a KOD to Vega, Belair was a mere second away from earning another title shot when Doudrop appeared and pulled her out of the ring as she was trying to make the pin. Doudrop then drove Belair into the ring post taking her out of the equation. Carmella tried to take advantage of the situation and go for the cover on Vega. Morgan entered the ring behind Carmella to get the crucifix pin for the win.
Lynch was shocked by the result as the two then confronted each other on top of the announce desk to end the segment. The date of when the two will fight with the gold on the line has not been confirmed.
It was made official that Lynch will face SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in the classic Champion vs. Champion match at Survivor Series.
