On the March 3 episode of SmackDown, Liv Morgan took on the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship Rhea Ripley. Even though the match results were highly favored for Ripley, the two put on a quality match. Morgan would end up losing after she tapped out in a submission by Ripley. One fan, in particular, didn’t take it too well. A young fan in the front row was visibly upset as she cried that Ripley got the win and Morgan suffered defeat.
Morgan would meet this fan backstage and embrace her in a hug. Morgan asked her how old she was and the ten-year-old stated it was almost her birthday. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion told her that she would make sure she was still an active superstar in eight years so that the girl could share the ring with her as tag team partners.
Elsewhere on SmackDown, Tegan Nox faced Shayna Baszler in a losing effort. The match was originally supposed to be a tag team bout between Nox/Natalya and Baszler/Ronda Rousey but there was an attack earlier in the night. This had Nox injure Rousey’s arm so she could not compete. Rousey appeared in a sling at ringside.
