Liv Morgan Recalls How She Was Signed With WWE

For the past seven years, Liv Morgan has been with WWE and is truly a homegrown talent. Without having previous experience on the indie scene as some talent, Morgan has had to rely on other aspects of her background to get into the door of WWE.

In a recent interview with Twin Talk with Haley & Hanna Cavinder, Morgan recalls meeting her personal trainer who was the one to put her name out there. She has been a fan of wrestling since she was a kid at age five and always wanted to be a wrestler when she grew up. Morgan adds that her signing was thanks to her being at the right place at the right time.

“I was fortunate enough to meet his world-renowned strength and conditioning coach named Joe DeFranco,” says Morgan. “He trains professional athletes. So he trains, Triple H, and after training with him for a week or two he pretty much told WWE, ‘Hey, I have this girl here. She loves WWE, she’s athletic, and she’s been training with me. I think she may be worth a look at for a tryout.’ So, they gave my information, and then six months later I flew for my tryout, and then I got signed. And like the rest is history. It was just the right moment, the right time. It was insane.” (Wrestling Inc.)

Morgan is currently coming off a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match alongside Tegan Nox which they were unable to dethrone Damage CTRL. She has had an impressive 2022 by winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and becoming the SmackDown Women’s Champion for the first time in her career.

She will take part in a six-woman Gauntlet Match this Friday on SmackDown – Dec. 23.
