Liv Morgan picked up her first singles win since November after pinning Carmella on this week’s SmackDown.
For the past two weeks, Morgan has had to find her footing without her tag team partner Ruby Riott who was released by the company. Whereas she has had more recent wins alongside Riott, Morgan now has to refocus her mind as a singles competitor and now has the SmackDown Women’s Championship on her mind.
Carmella has been boasting that she is the most beautiful woman in WWE. Morgan hasn’t been agreeing to that and although she lost to Carmella last week, this week she took her out with Oblivion leading to the three count. After the match, Carmella still required the ring announcer to say that she is the most beautiful woman in WWE despite her loss.
In a WWE Network Exclusive, Morgan is asked about her win and how she feels about it. She says she feels good and that in life you either Liv or you learn. Morgan adds that she got to prove something that she has always known about herself. And that is she is a future SmackDown Women’s Champion. If you don’t believe that, just watch her.
With Morgan having singles gold in her sight, she will have to wait until after Hell in a Cell. Current SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has to battle Bayley at that event next Sunday on June 20.
Bayley hosted a Ding Dong, Hello! segment on this week’s SmackDown with her guest Seth Rollins. The breakdown of the segment led to Cesaro attacking Rollins and destroying the set of the show. Bayley distraught by her set being in rubble, attempted to start cleaning it up. Belair’s music then hit and she came out without saying a word and proceeding to cackle at Bayley’s misery.
Bayley has spent weeks mocking and cackling at Belair which has gotten into the head of the SmackDown Women’s Champion. This was a way for Belair to play some mind games back to her upcoming challenger.
