WrestleMania 37 is rapidly approaching and is now less than a month away. As of now, there is not a tag team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the card. Liv Morgan of The Riott Squad would love to see that change and she wants to win the titles at the biggest event of the year.
The current champions are Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax who will defend their titles against SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair this Sunday at Fastlane. Morgan along with her tag team partner Ruby Riott haven’t been utilized in the past few weeks. Other teams such as Naomi & Lana, Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke, and Tamina & Natalya have been seen weekly with their eyes set on the gold.
Morgan was last seen in a singles match against Tamina on Feb. 26’s edition of SmackDown where she lost.
While speaking with Dayton 24/7 Now, Morgan expressed interest in not only participating in WrestleMania but winning the tag titles.
“I want to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. If I had the choice, Ruby and I are going to win our first championships in WWE and it’s going to be the Tag Team Championships and all is going to be right in the world.”
Currently there is only one women’s match on the two-night event’s card. That features the 2021 Royal Rumble winner Bianca Belair as she chose to face SmackDown’s champion Sasha Banks. Morgan weighs in on how much she is looking forward to that match.
“Aside from that, I’m really looking forward to Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. That’s going to be a show-stealer. They have so much to prove, as far as Bianca showing she is one of the best and Sasha maintaining. They’re going to absolutely have an outstanding matchup. It’s a toss-up. It’s crazy because when I started in WWE, Sasha was already considered one of the best and I’m looking up to her. To be a couple of years in and Bianca starts and I see her in the same light. I watched her take her first bump and here she is going for the title at WrestleMania against Sasha. I’m so excited for it.”
Last year’s WrestleMania event saw Morgan defeat Natalya on the pre-show. The WWE Women’s Tag Titles were defended at last year’s event by The Kabuki Warriors where they lost the gold to Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross.
