Diva Dirt presents live coverage of SHINE 20, airing tonight on iPPV.
The main event sees SHINE Champion Ivelisse face arguably the toughest challenge of her title reign yet, as she puts the belt on the line against Valkyrie leader Serena Deeb, while heading the undercard is the possible culmination of Allysin Kay and Jessicka Havok‘s epic rivalry as they go one-on-one in a Last Woman Standing Match.
Also, the SHINE Tag Team Championships are up for grabs, with four teams facing off in a Four Corners Survival Match for a shot at the champions Leva Bates and Mia Yim later on in the show.

It was announced that Leah Von Dutch could not make the show, and replacing her in the match against Amber O’Neal will be Crazy Mary Dobson.
It was also announced that Cherry Bomb could not make it due to travel issues. As a result, the Kimber Bombs will not be competing for the Tag Team Championships, and the Four Corners Survival Match is now a three-way.
Out comes Kimber Lee (whose birthday it is today) and says Cherry Bomb is on her way to the show as we speak. Malia Hosaka cuts her off and says she doesn’t care. Kimber – with the crowd on her side – says she’s going to go it alone. We’re back to a four-way.
Legendary (Malia Hosaka and Brandi Wine) defeated The Buddy System (Heidi Lovelace and Solo Darling), The SNS Express (Sassy Stephie and Jessie Belle) and Kimber Lee to become the number one contenders for the SHINE Tag Team Championships. Legendary dominated for large portions of the match, with Leilani Kai at ringside with them interfering, at one point with a bite to Heidi Lovelace. Nice Luis Suarez reference from Lenny Leonard on commentary. Kimber Lee made a valiant effort, never shying from the action, but ultimately fell foul to a double gourdbuster from Hosaka and Wine, with the referee distracted elsewhere. Decent match.
Crazy Mary Dobson beat Amber O’Neal by disqualification. Dobson really impressed in her first ever SHINE appearance, with both women matching each other in aggression and intensity. After Dobson kicked out of O’Neal’s X Factor, O’Neal became enraged, getting a chair and striking Dobson with it several times. The referee rang the bell for a DQ, and before O’Neal left the ring she made the Bullet Club gesture. Of course, O’Neal’s newlywed husband is Bullet Club member Luke Gallows. Exciting stuff!
Su Yung defeated Justine Silver. Su Yung’s new persona is awesome – aligning her with Valkyrie and making her possessed was such a good idea. Some of the things she was doing to Silver legit made me wince, from a senton to the outside onto a steel chair, to yanking Silver’s leg while in the tree of woe. Silver also continues to impress, but this was all about Su Yung. The finish came with April Hunter distracting referee Frankie Gastineau, allowing Yung to put on a white glove and do some sort of Mandible Claw-style move on Silver, knocking her out then locking in Yellow Fever for the victory. Great match.
La Rosa Negra defeated Shanna. The best match of the night so far. Huge moves, near-falls, comedy spots with footballs and everything in between, culminating in Noemi Bosques (nope, still no idea) landing a vicious right hook on Shanna with the referee’s back turned, allowing Negra to hit a frog splash for the win to even the scores between the two women. Fantastic.
Candice LeRae defeated Nevaeh. This was a fun match that did well to keep the fans hot after the previous contest. Candice is oh so very over, and pulled off somewhat of a surprise victory with a roll-up.
Malia Hosaka and Brandi Wine defeated Leva Bates and Mia Yim to become the new SHINE Tag Team Champions! Well, I wasn’t expecting that. Credit to Legendary, two great performances tonight, combining excellent heel tactics with Leilani Kai’s presence at ringside and superb in-ring work. Legendary picked up the win in controversial fashion, with Kai preventing Yim from hitting Lucha Strong, allowing Wine to get the shock pinfall. The Orpheum is not happy.
Allysin Kay defeated Jessicka Havok in a Last Woman Standing Match. “Brutal” doesn’t even begin to describe this one. Kay got the win after Su Yung popped up at ringside and tied Havok’s legs down, but Havok would get the last laugh, taking some scissors and hacking away at Kay’s hair. Looks like this feud continues.
Serena Deeb and Ivelisse wrestle to a 60 minute time-limit draw. It’s now 5:20 in the morning here and I can’t help but feel like that match never quite got out of second gear. Huge respect to both women for their stamina and their drive, but I’m going to have to watch the replay before I form a legitimate opinion of that match.
