Local ad promotes Nia Jax vs. Dean Ambrose for live event

WWE could really be making a push to include intergender wrestling in their shows. It appears that they’re advertising Nia Jax vs. Dean Ambrose for a live event in Jonesboro, Arkansas on Feb. 22.

A leaked clip of a local commercial for WWE’s live event in Jonesboro, Arkansas is promoting an “Intergender Special Attraction” pitting former RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax against former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose. It’s such a surprising visual that it’s hard not to do a double take upon seeing it.

Nia Jax crashed the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble, becoming the fourth female wrestler to compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble. In the most shocking and controversial moment of the night, Jax ambushed the no. 30 entrant, R-Truth, and took his place in the match. She was eventually eliminated by three of the remaining entrants after eliminating Mustafa Ali.

In case anyone thought this was a one-off for shock value, Jax also came down on the following Monday on Raw and interrupted Dean Ambrose, who was addressing the crowd. The two shared a tense staredown before Jax went on to force him out of the ring. Dean joked about the incident this past Monday in the Moment of Bliss segment, but there was no physical altercation.

If this match is official, it will be interesting to see if it’s just an attraction for house shows or if we’ll ever see it on WWE television. The fact that they’re advertising the match makes it seem like there will be more developments to come. Could this be a sign that intergender wrestling will be a regular part of WWE programming?

What do you think? Are you interested in this match-up? Could more women other than Nia get involved in matches with the men?

Drop a comment below and check back with Diva Dirt for any official announcement about this or any future intergender matches.
