LuFisto Injured, Cancels Future Bookings

Unfortunately, we have to add another to the injured list: LuFisto suffered a serious knee injury at SHIMMER 53 in Secaucus, NJ last weekend.

She injured her knee when attempting a moonsault from the top rope to the outside of the ring during her four-corner tag team bout.

LuFisto posted an open letter on her Facebook, revealing the severity of the injury (a fractured knee cap that has already forced her into surgery – ouch!) and cancelling several future bookings, including a much-hyped WSU Championship title match with Jessicka Havok in May.

Read LuFisto’s full letter below:

Dear fans, promoters and colleagues,

Last Saturday during the Shimmer 53 event at WrestleCon, I attempted a moonsault from the top rope to the outside, a manoeuvers I did before successfully. Whether it is because of miscommunication, bad timing or miscalculation, I landed very hard on the floor. I tried to turn myself mid-air but it was just too late.

Despite wearing knee pads, both my knees took the most of the impact, a fall of about 15 feet, right on the concrete. I lay on the floor for about a minute and decided to get up, get in the ring and finished what I had to do. Already as I had Taylor Made on my shoulder for the Burning Hammer, I knew there was something wrong.

I finished the match to the best of my ability without being able to put any weight on my left leg. Backstage, it was very swollen and I also had to cancel my match against Sumie Sakai at IndyGurlz.

I went back home on the Sunday and finally saw the doctor today. He confirmed that my left knee cap completely absorbed the impact. I got some x-rays done and I now have the results: Fractured knee cap.

I will see an orthopedist by the end of the week to know if I require surgery or a cast (hip to ankle). Therefore, I’m very sorry and sad to announce that I do have to cancel all my future appearances for at least the next two months:

Shimmer on April 14-15th
NGE on April 27th
WSU on May 11th
NSPW on May 25th

I’m so, so sorry and upset. Unfortunately, a tough and expensive road to recovery is now on the way. I hope you will all forgive me for not being able to compete for those few months. I hope to see you all very soon.

LuFisto xox

Here’s hoping that LuFisto has a speedy recovery. Get well soon!
