Mike Johnson at PWInsider just reported that Madison Rayne has been released from her contract with Ring of Honor. He confirmed this news with several sources. Apparently, Rayne was unhappy with the creative direction they were taking with her character and both parties made the amicable decision to part ways.
Rayne has only been with the company since September of this past year. She has wrestled in many promotions over her 14-year career most notable in Impact Wrestling. During her tenure with the company, she was a five time Knockouts Champion. She also held the Knockouts Tag Team Championship twice; once with Gail Kim and the other as part of the trio, The Beautiful People.
Prior to being signed with Ring of Honor, Rayne was a participant in the second Mae Young Classic under the name Ashley Rayne. Unfortunately, she was defeated in the first round by Mercedes Martinez.
So what’s next for Madison Rayne? Perhaps a return to Impact, or maybe the free agent will catch the eye of All Elite Wrestling as they fill their women’s division.
