Madison Rayne, who parted ways with Ring of Honor this week after just six months with the company, has signed with IMPACT Wrestling. IMPACT confirmed the news today with an announcement on their official Twitter account.
Rayne is a five-time Knockouts Champion, as well as a two-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion. Her first tag title reign was as a member of the Beautiful People with Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, while her second was with Gail Kim.
Her departure from ROH stems, according to PWInsider, from creative differences over a potential Beautiful People reunion. Rayne had reportedly suggested bringing Angelina Love and Velvet Sky to ROH to reform the stable (though Sky has been retired for two years). She requested her release when ROH creative rejected her idea. ROH subsequently offered to bring in the Beautiful People provided Rayne feuded with them, rather than reuniting. She turned down the counter offer and ROH granted her release.
This will mark the third run with IMPACT that Madison Rayne has enjoyed in the last decade. She first left the promotion in 2017, in part to attend tryouts at the WWE Performance Center. Though she was unsuccessful in her attempts to sign with WWE, she nonetheless competed in the second Mae Young Classic last year, where she was eliminated in the first round by Mercedes Martinez. Rayne returned to IMPACT later in 2017, but left again in mid-2018 to join ROH.
