Maika has won the 2024 STARDOM 5Star Grand Prix Tournament.
After becoming runner up in 2023 to Suzu Suzuki, the 26 year old took this year by storm and defeated Saya Kamitani in the finals on Aug. 31. The tournament included a total of 28 women and a total of 93 matches in the month of August to reach this decision. Maika had a perfect record winning every match she participated in.
Elsewhere on the card for Aug. 31 was a big win for Tam Nakano. She became a two-time World of STARDOM Champion after defeating Natsuko Tora in a 27-minute bout. Natsuko only held the top prize in STARDOM for 34 days. She had defeated Maika for the title in July.
AEW’s Anna Jay participated in this year’s 5Star GP as she wrestled for the first time in her career. She won three out of her six matches earning six points. At the finals event in a non-tournament match, she defeated Momo Kohgo. She will be making her way back to AEW.
