Mandy Rose Battles Roxanne Perez; Tag Team Match Set For Spring Breakin’

This week’s NXT 2.0 was stacked with its overflowing women’s roster.

With a total of 23-women being highlighted on the show, four matches involving the female talent took place.

The results were as follows –

Nikkita Lyons defeated Lash Legend

Kayden Carter & Katana Chance defeated Yulisa Leon & Valentina Feroz

Legado del Fantasma (Elektra Lopez/Cruz del Toro/Joaquin Wilde) defeated Fallon Henley & Josh Briggs

Mandy Rose defeated Roxanne Perez

The show kicked off with the second in-ring encounter between Lyons and Legend. The two powerhouses have been in a heated rivalry since the beginning of March. Lyons picked up another win after a spinning heel kick, extending her winning streak, and earning two victories over Legend.

After the match, Natalya attacked Lyons from behind as Legend joined in to make it a two-on-one attack. Cora Jade entered the fray and went after Legend first before turning her attention to Natalya. Natalya attempted to lock in the Sharpshooter but Lyons stopped her.

A tag team match is confirmed for next week’s special NXT 2.0 Spring Breakin’ episode. Natalya and Lash Legend will be taking on Cora Jade and Nikkita Lyons.

The tag team division is heating up as a tag team bout took place on this week’s NXT 2.0 to give one team the boost needed to go after the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. After a battle between two great teams, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance defeated Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz. After Carter set up Chance for the 450 Splash the duo win via pinfall.

In a backstage segment before their six-person tag team match, Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs, and Brooks Jensen were seen talking. Sofia Cromwell walked by which caught the eye of Jensen. Before their match against Legado del Fantasma, Jensen was attacked backstage and taken out by an unknown assailant.

This left the upcoming match a two-on-three handicap match. Legado del Fantasma won the match with Del Toro pinning Briggs.

The final match of the show had newcomer Roxanne Perez taking on the NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose in a non-title match. Perez won her debut match last week against Toxic Attraction’s Jacy Jayne. This match was booked from earlier in the night when Toxic Attraction approached Perez who was backstage talking to Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta.

Perez was hoping for back-to-back wins but the Rose made sure that wouldn’t happen. After a tough battle and Perez getting a series of near falls, Rose would connect with the running knee to win via pinfall.

After the match, Wendy Choo appeared and caught Toxic Attraction in a trap on the ramp. Choo and Perez chased the champions to the back.

Other moments that included the women of NXT 2.0 this week included a backstage segment with Tiffany Stratton and Grayson Waller. They appear to have found some common ground as they vent about their recent rivals.

The first-ever NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament was announced for May 10. Names confirmed so far are Arianna Grace, Kiana James, and Sloane Jacobs. More can be read about this by clicking here.
