Mandy Rose has won the first gold in her career as she has defeated Raquel Gonzalez to become the new NXT Women’s Champion at Halloween Havoc.
The match type was decided by the spin of the wheel and it landed on ‘Chucky’s choice.’ Chucky announced the two women would fight in a Trick or Street Fight. This win for Rose ended Gonzalez’s reign at 202-days.
The near 12-minute Trick or Street Fight had the women locked in a very physical match-up. Kendo sticks, chairs, tables, and a fire extinguisher made their way into the fight. Rose found herself through a table at one point but it would be the mystery person who has had vignettes for the past couple of weeks to be the deciding factor.
A hooded figure smacked a shovel into the back of Gonzalez which allowed Rose to go in for the pin and win. After the match, Rose celebrated with her Toxic Attraction teammates. Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles earlier in the night in a Triple Threat Scareway to Hell Ladder Match. To read about Dolin & Jayne’s win you can click here. The stable now holds all the gold in NXT 2.0.
After the trio was shown celebrating their win on the ramp area, the hooded figure was in the ring looming over a fallen Gonzalez. The reveal took place and it was Dakota Kai. The last time Kai was on television was her defeat from Gonzalez after she turned on her former best friend/tag team partner.
A video promo was aired on tonight’s Halloween Havoc for former and longest reigning NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray. Ray moved to the NXT brand slightly before the NXT 2.0 change took place. Since then, she has been put on the back burner, but this promo explains just that and Ray appears to be quite pissed about it.
Several women were part of the backstage Halloween party including Franky Monet, Cora Jade, Lash Legend, and more.
