It was announced tonight on Friday Night SmackDown that the final spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on May 10 will belong to either Mandy Rose or Carmella. Tonight we saw Lacey Evans claim her spot by defeating Sasha Banks.
Evans joins Dana Brooke from SmackDown along with Nia Jax, Asuka, and Shayna Baszler from RAW. Carmella and Brooke had a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Championship tonight as well against Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss. The makeshift tag team were not able to pick up a win, but Carmella hopes to join Brooke at MITB.
Mandy Rose has had her hands filled with her now former best friend – Sonya Deville. This distraction may not be in her favor to grab this opportunity. Rose was in her first MITB match last year.
Carmella won the first-ever women’s MITB match in 2017. There was controversy with her win as James Ellsworth was the one to actually unhook the briefcase. As a result she was briefly stripped of the briefcase but won it back on a subsequent SmackDown in a MITB rematch.
