Mariah May is officially #AllElite.
During the November 8 episode of AEW Dynamite, RJ RJ City interviewed Mariah May as it was announced that she has officially signed with AEW. May noted that she’s excited to be in AEW and is a big fan of Toni Storm.
The 25-year-old is coming off of a successful run with STARDOM where she was a one-time Goddess of STARDOM Champion alongside Mina Shirakawa. Her last match for the promotion took place in September.
This week’s Dynamite also saw the in-ring return of Red Velvet as she took on Julia Hart in singles competition.
The match started with Hart outsmarting Velvet at each turn until Velvet trapped Hart in the corner with strikes to the midsection. After the break, Velvet continued her momentum with running double knees in the ropes. But in the end, Hart secured the victory after landing a huge moonsault off the top ropes.
Post-match, Julia applied Hartless to make Velvet tap until Skye Blue marched down to the ring. Skye and Hart stared each other down for a bit until Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale walked down. Hart then stared down Statlander before exiting.
It was also made official that Toni Storm will challenge Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW Full Gear. AEW had previously announced Storm would be in the title match, but Shida’s status as champion was solidified following her recent defenses. This will be a direct rematch from when Shida dethroned Storm on the 200th episode of Dynamite in August ahead of AEW All In.
As of this writing, a women’s match has not been officially announced for Rampage or Collision.
