Ahead of her match against Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship, Marina Shafir will be taking on Skye Blue this week on AEW Dynamite. This will be Shafir’s TV debut as she has only competed on AEW Dark.
Shafir was confirmed as Cargill’s next opponent for the TBS Championship a few weeks ago. “The Problem” is currently 4-0 in 2022 and she will be trying to issue the first defeat for Cargill in AEW who is sitting at 29-0. Cargill has issued several open challenges since becoming the inaugural champion in January. She has defeated the likes of Anna Jay, Julia Hart, A.Q.A, The Bunny, and lastly Tay Conti at Revolution.
Cargill is determined to get her 30th win and solve “The Problem” in the process. There is no date officially set for their match at the time of this writing.
As for Skye Blue, the last we saw of her was the March 30 episode of Rampage where she attempted to qualify for the Owen Hart Cup. She was unable to qualify and suffered a loss against Jamie Hayter.
The current women that are qualified for the Owen Hart Cup are Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida, and Red Velvet.
