It hasn’t been a very good week for Mayu Iwatani. This past Saturday at the ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard, she lost the Women of Honor Championship to Kelly Klein.
Today, she announced on Twitter that she will take some much needed time off to heal a nagging knee injury. Iwanti suffered a torn MCL in December of this past year at a Stardom show and the knee never fully repaired itself.
“Will miss the draft of the 4/14 later. It’s too hard to walk. I haven’t had a sore day since I got hurt. On the contrary, I worked hard well up to now. I want to compliment myself. MSG out, it is a good opportunity to know, but I do want to mirror the condition, so I will be happy to rest. Hey guys.”
Iwanti will be taken a hiatus after the Stardom draft which takes place this Sunday the 14th. She will be a participant in a fatal five-way match against Kagetsu, Mono Watanabe, Jungle Kyona and Hana Kimura. Although, she lost her Women of Honor Title, she still holds the Artist Of Stardom Championships alongside Saki Kashima and Tam Nakano.
Diva Dirt wishes Mayu Iwatani a speeding recovery and we look forward to her return to the ring.
