Erin and I have made it sort of a point to not cover video games, because we don’t play them but a lot of you are excited that SmackDown vs Raw 2009 is set to feature the biggest Divas roster ever in the history of the series. Along with previously announced Divas, recent images confirm that Divas Champion, Michelle McCool, Victoria, Jillian and Layla have all made the cut rounding out the 11-Diva roster on the game. They join the previously announced Ashley, Beth Phoenix, Candice Michelle, Kelly Kelly, Maria, Melina and Mickie James.
Unfortunately, the game doesn’t feature Natalya or Maryse, though this is likely because the game began development last year. And of course, no one can expect Brie Bella to turn up. That said, this year’s game will feature downloadable content, so you may be able to add more Superstars such as Natalya and Maryse.
Fans are certainly eager to see this huge roster this year and it’s a definite sign in the growth of the women’s division in 2008. Who knows, in next year’s game we could see an even bigger roster with both the Women’s and Divas Championships playable too. It seems most of all, that fans are excited to see the inclusion of the Vicious Vixen, Victoria who has unceremoniously been left off nearly every SmackDown vs Raw title.
