Today marks the day that the legendary Meiko Satomura celebrates 25 years in professional wrestling.
Satomura is one of the most well-respected wrestlers on the planet and widely considered as one of the best wrestlers in history.
Satomura’s amazing wrestling journey at the age of 15 when she made her professional wrestling debut on this day way back in 1995 for all-female promotion Gaea Japan. Satomura would wrestle for Gaea for the next 10 years where she would become one of the company’s most reliable and top stars. During her tenure she would hold the AAAW Tag Team Championships with Sonoko Kato and the AAAW Championship twice.
Gaea Japan would close in 2005 and Satomura would co-found Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling with Jinsei Shinzaki. Along with establishing a new promotion where she worked as the trainer, booker, and top star, Satomura would also wrestle and gain fame worldwide.
Satomura would work for many companies across the globe, such as; WWE, STARDOM, Chikara, DDT Pro, Fight Club Pro, PROGRESS, wXw, OTT, and Pro Wrestling: EVE.
