On this week’s edition of NXT UK Meiko Satomura defended her women’s championship for the first time. Not only was this her first defence but it was her first match since winning the title from Kay Lee Ray in an epic encounter last month.
Two weeks ago Amale stepped up and got in the face of the ‘Final Boss’ to lay down the challenge. Satomura gladly accepted the challenge by elbowing her in the throat.
The two met previously back in 2019. Amale emerged as the victor successfully defending the wXw Women’s title. The ‘French Hope’ would certainly want the same outcome here.
The match started with Satomura laying into Amale with signature stinging kicks. She continued to beat her down and hit a knee drop for a two-count.
Amale gave as good as she got firing back on Satomura with her own brand powerful offence. She smashed Satomura with a face wash and a Fisherman screw for a near-fall.
A DDT from Satomura put the advantage back in her favour. She then finished off her valiant opponent with the Scorpio Rising for the win.
Despite a strong challenge from Amale, who easily put on her best performance in NXT UK to date, Satomura successfully defended the title she won 35 days ago.
Also on the show, we saw Valkyrie cut a promo on Jinny. Two weeks back Jinny appeared on the ramp during one of Valkyrie’s matches. The two locked eyes and it became clear they were on a collision course.
