The NWA Empowerrr card is becoming more and more in focus as now Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo knows who she will be facing at the event. She will be defending her title against Melina. Melina made her first appearance ever in her veteran career in an IMPACT ring on this week’s show.
Prior to Melina making her way out, Purrazzo was celebrating her victory from the Homecoming Tournament. She was crowned Queen alongside Matt Rehwoldt as King. As the two were bragging about their joint victory, Mickie James came out to get a very important signature from the Knockouts Champion.
James invited Purrazzo to defend her Knockouts Championship on Aug. 28 at Empowerrr but hadn’t disclosed her opponent yet. Purrazzo said she wouldn’t sign the contract for the match until she knew who her opponent was. The Virtuosa was in luck, as her opponent was there and ready to come out.
Melina then made her way out to the ring and did her signature split on the apron. Purrazzo introduced herself to Melina and running down her list of accomplishments since joining IMPACT. Both of them signed the contract and Melina let Purrazzo know that she was aware that The Virtuosa won the Knockouts Title on her first try. Melina says she intends to do the very same thing at Empowerrr.
Empowerrr takes place on Aug. 28 followed by NWA73 on Aug. 29 where Mickie James will be in action.
