Former WWE Diva Melina has responded to a new report that sought to explain why she isn’t returning to Lucha Underground.
The report, from Wrestling Observer, claimed that Lucha Underground had replaced Melina with AAA’s Taya Valkyrie because Melina had been “extremely difficult” to work with.
Melina responded to this claim today on Twitter, accusing individuals of trying to “fabricate stories of this evil villain of a woman”, as had been done during her time as an active wrestler:
When I first set out to be in wrestling, I was thinking it was going to be all #HappyJoyJoy ??

Melina confirmed that she wouldn’t be returning to Lucha Underground early last month. Today, she revealed the reason her pairing with Johnny Mundo wouldn’t be going forward, saying that Lucha didn’t want to repeat something the WWE already did:
No. LU said they didn't want John & myself together Bcuz it's something WWE has already done. I totally understand. https://t.co/z3nTdrcTFu

Pro Wrestling Sheet has backed up her claims, reporting that their sources are telling them the same thing.
Melina continues to make appearances on the indy wrestling scene, most recently returning to the ring at two STARDOM events in October.
