According to Robert Stone, he is no longer employing Mercedes Martinez due to creative differences. Martinez took on Rhea Ripley in a Steel Cage match in the main event of NXT this week. She came out of that match with a loss as she was pinned by Ripley after suffering a Riptide through a table.
Stone, along with Aliyah, explains in an “emergency press conference” that Martinez wanted to take the Robert Stone Brand in a different direction. Stone says that no one, not even him, is bigger than the brand.
He asked McKenzie Mitchell to deliver a restraining order to Martinez for him. He knows that if he delivers it then bad things will happen to him. McKenzie was able to find Martinez as she was making her way through the parking lot to deliver this to her. Martinez responded by ripping up the document.
Stone says he is ready for bigger signings to his brand and he will be looking out for them.
Martinez is the second person to leave the brand. Original member Chelsea Green left several months ago. What do you make of the departure of Martinez? Will she stay in NXT or will she be moving to either RAW or SmackDown as a result?
