STARDOM have announced that veteran joshi wrestler Nanae Takahashi’s 15th anniversary match will be against none other than the “Latina Sensation” Mercedes Martinez!
Takahashi’s career began on July 14, 1996 at Korakuen Hall against Momoe Nakanishi and she will be celebrating her 15th anniversary in wrestling with a match on July 24th also to be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
Takahashi graduated from All Japan Women’s Pro-Wrestling’s class of 1996 and has wrestled for such promotions as AJW, Pro-Wrestling SUN (now revamped as an American women’s wrestling promotion under Allison Danger’s control), NEO Japan, Ice Ribbon and ZERO1-MAX. She has won over 10 title belts and several tournaments throughout her storied career.
The match also marks Mercedes’ first match in Japan and will part of a four person tournament for the World of Stardom Championship. It will be taped for Fighting TV Samurai and will be broadcasted on July 27th.
