WWE SmackDown Superstar Michin has had a very emotional week.
She’s had high highs and low lows. In her personal life, Michin had to say goodbye to her sweet pup Jolene. A pain that any pet owner knows isn’t easy. Professionally, however, Michin is riding high.
Michin moved forward in the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Title Tournament after defeating both Piper Niven and Lash Legend on Friday’s SmackDown. She has now taken to social media to discuss her drive to become the first crowned champion.
“I went from the greatest high advancing my career to the lowest lows saying goodbye to my little lady — but it’s that mix of emotions that got me thinking about timing. I have crisscrossed this business trying to earn my shot. I’ve bled and limped and hurt all over the world just so I can break out. Just so I can be recognized. Just so I could be part of the conversation. And now, while I am on the best roll of my career, the Women’s U.S. Championship Tournament hits me at the right time. And I am starting to wonder if it is my time — and not because I feel that I deserve it or that I’m due it, but because I can feel the momentum.
For the first time of my life I stopped doubting myself because I can feel the people behind me, dragging me through each match, not giving up on me. So from a woman who never calls her shot, I’m saying this time is my time. It’s all me. So to all the women standing in my way, I’m trying to beat you because I have to. But I am willing to end you if I need to.“
Michin has had two runs with WWE. Signed with the company from 2018 until her release in 2021, she wasn’t given a fair shot on the main roster. She returned in 2022 and has continuously looked for her first gold with the company. Michin has been a championship holder for other companies such as TNA and SHINE.
Her advancement in the tournament will have her see in the semi-finals the winner that advances in the last first-round match between Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Elektra Lopez.
The other side of the bracket has Bayley vs. Chelsea Green meeting in the semi-finals.
