Mickie James and NWA are making history. They host their first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view EmPowerrr at the end of the month.
During an Instagram Live session James surprised Chelsea Green with a huge announcement regarding the main event of the show.
Here’s what James said:
“I remember a Tweet that I saw from you that said ‘not only do I wanna wrestle on Empowerrr but I want to be in the main event’ and I was like ‘ooh sassy pants OK’. So I wanna do that for you.”
The news was met with a gasp and celebration from Green.
James went on to reveal that Green is now part of the first-ever NWA Women’s Invitational, which will headline the monumental event.
Green will join nine other women all vying to win the trophy and the opportunity to challenge the NWA World Women’s Champion the following night at NWA 73.
The Hot Mess’ NWA debut means she is appearing for a third promotion in just two months. Green shockingly turned up at Ring of Honor’s Best in the World. She then made her return to IMPACT! Wrestling at Slammiversary.
The participants for Women’s Invitational thus far are Tootie Lynn, Jamie Senegal and Chelsea Green with seven more to be announced.
The card also features either The Bunny or ‘Legit’ Leyla Hirsch facing Kamille for the NWA World Women’s Championship.
Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo will be in action.
The new NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions will be crowned.
NWA EmPowerrr takes place on August 28th at The Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta St. Louis. The PPV is available for purchase via FITE.
