Mickie James is still the Knockouts World Champion after successfully defending her title against Madison Rayne on this week’s IMPACT.
Two of the pillars in the history of the Knockouts went toe-to-toe. In the end, James came out on top after hitting a Meteora from the top rope to get the pin. After the match, James’ next challenger made her way out to the ring.
At Knockouts Knockdown, Mercedes Martinez won a number one contenders tournament and earned a future shot at the Knockouts World Title. She is now ready to cash that in.
Martinez started out with a lot of respect for James but she quickly confirmed that she wasn’t out here to praise her. She was here to challenge her. The two will collide for the Knockouts World Championship at Turning Point on Nov. 20.
On to the Knockouts tag team division.
The Knockouts World Tag Team Champions The IInspiration made their way to Locker Room Talk where they thought they were having an interview with Madison Rayne. Earlier in the night, Gia Miller alerted Rayne of her Locker Room Talk segment in which she said that was not true information and she had no idea what she was talking about. What it ended up being was a trap set by Decay to lure in Cassie Lee and Jess McKay. The eerie encounter can be seen below with the message of “Turning Point” signifying the rematch that will take place at the upcoming event.
This wouldn’t be the last we saw of The IInspiration this week as they ran into the Undead Bridesmaids Kimber Lee and Brandi Lauren. Lee and Lauren were looking for more souls for Mother and The IInspiration convinced them to go after Decay. Lee & Lauren vs. Decay is set for next week.
