Mina Shirakawa or AZM? Who will the NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné face next?
On May 9, Moné will he in action at NJPW’s Resurgence in Ontario, Cali. Her opponent, however, will be decided in a match at Windy City Riot on April 11 in Chicago. Two women who have held (AZM is currently reigning) Artist of STARDOM Championships will do battle.
Shirakawa last faced Moné where she put the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Title on the line against Moné’s STRONG Women’s Title. Moné defeated Shirakawa and currently holds both titles along with AEW’s TBS Title. AZM has not gone one-on-one with Moné but she last face her in a Triple Threat that included Hazuki for the IWGP Women’s Title in 2023. Moné retained that title in the match before dropping it to the current champion, Mayu Iwatani.
While AZM is still with STARDOM, Shirakawa has announced that she will be leaving the promotion to join AEW.
