Deonna Purrazzo had an open challenge on Saturday’s IMPACT! No Surrender event where she would put one of her championships on the line. Purrazzo is currently a double champion as she holds both the AAA Reina de Reinas Title and the ROH Women’s World Title which she defeated Rok-C for in January.
The challenge was accepted by Miranda Alize. Alize is one who is very familiar with chasing the ROH Women’s World Title, which is the belt she chose to go after. In the finals to crown the inaugural ROH champion, Alize was defeated by Rok-C in September after a 15-person tournament. Now she wanted another crack at the gold that escaped her.
In the final moments of the match, Purrazzo delivered a suplex before going for The Queens Gambit, however, Alize was able to escape. Alize follows up with a knee strike and goes to lock in the Miranda Rights. Purrazzo rolls out and counters into the Venus de Milo which forces Alize to tap out. Purrazzo is still a double champ as she retained the ROH Women’s Championship.
Elsewhere on the No Surrender card, Jordynne Grace attempted to win back the Digital Media Championship. As the inaugural champ, Grace dropped the belt to Matt Cardona in January after only holding it for 90-days.
Cardona would go on to retain the title due to disqualification on the part of Grace. With a steel chair being introduced (which was Cardona’s method he used to take the title off of Grace), Grace hit a low blow on Cardona in front of the referee who then called for the bell. After the match, Grace delivered a blow to the back of Cardona with the steel chair leaving him to roll under the ropes and escape the ring.
On the countdown preshow, Tenille Dashwood faced Havok. Havok picked up the win in that exchange. Dashwood had the match potential won off of a crossbody and had Havok in position for the Spotlight Kick. However, an incoming call to Kaleb with a K from the IInspiration caused discourse between The Influence and Dashwood was too distracted to get the win. Havok hit the Tombstone to put Dashwood away.
