Tonight at Money in the Bank, history was made as Becky Lynch, Carmella, Charlotte Flair, Natalya and Tamina competed in the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank.
By the end of night however, only one Superstar could be named the first ever Ms. Money in the Bank in the form of Carmella thanks to some help from James Ellsworth.
During the physical match-up, Tamina cleared the ring of her opponents early on, who had all fetched ladders on the outside ring. She was the first to make use the ladder stipulation by driving Natalya face first to a ladder from a corner and tackling Becky to another.

Natalya was the first woman to set and climb up the ladder to but Charlotte was able to stop Natalya from grabbing the briefcase by taking her out with an Electric Chair Drop.

Charlotte would try her own luck at climbing the ladder but Carmella intervene, leading to a race to the top. Neither women would successfully grab the case as Tamina would knock the ladder off, sending both Charlotte and Carmella to crash and burn.

The battle between each Superstar would continue and find its way to the outside, where Charlotte climbed to the top rope and take out Natalya and Tamina with a corkscrew moonsault.

Back in the ring, Becky was able to gain some control over Carmella by laying her out with a power bomb and begin to climb the ladder only to be knocked off by an interfering James Ellsworth. Ellsworth would then climb the ladder himself, retrieve the briefcase and drop it to Carmella.
Despite the confusion, Carmella was declared the winner of the match.
Absolutely unacceptable and cheap. The circumstances surrounding the Women's #MITB match will be the FIRST thing addressed on #SDLive.

This is not what I had envisioned for the FIRST EVER Women's #MITB match. @realellsworth and @CarmellaWWE just robbed the #WWE Universe.

However, Carmella’s win did not come without controversy as both SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan and SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon have tweeted that they will address Carmella’s ‘victory’.
What did you think of the match? What do you think will happen Tuesday on SmackDown?
