According to EWrestlingNews, 2017 Mae Young Classic contestant, Renee Michelle, is engaged to current WWE superstar, Drake Maverick. The two will exchange vows this summer, in June.
Michelle competed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic back in 2017, losing a first-round matchup to current NXT superstar Candice LeRae, who would go on to advance to the semifinals of the tournament. She also made a cameo appearance as one of Adam Rose’s Rosebuds during the 2014 Slammy Awards.
Perhaps best known for her work on the independent scene, Michelle is a former WXW Diamond Division Champion and a three-time MCW women’s champion. Michelle has also appeared for SHINE and the East Coast Wrestling Association, among other promotions.
Prominent superstars will be members of the wedding party. Braun Strowman, EC3, and Jeremy Borash are all current WWE employees, who will be groomsmen. Indy superstar, Cheerleader Melissa, will also be a part of the ceremony as one of Michelle’s bridesmaids.
Melissa is well known for her work with SHIMMER. She is a multi-time SHIMMER Champion and one half of the current SHIMMER Tag Team Champions, alongside Mercedes Martinez. Melissa also worked in Lucha Underground, as Mariposa, and in TNA, as Raisha Saeed.
