Naomi was one of many guests celebrating five years of the women’s evolution on WWE The Bump earlier today. She discussed many things including that moment five years ago when Sasha Banks joined her and Tamina to form Team B.A.D. Wrestling Bayley at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia was discussed as was her WrestleMania moment in her hometown of Orlando when she walked out as SmackDown Women’s Champion in 2017.
With so many moments to reminisce on, Naomi was asked where the rest of her 2020 stands. Her hope is to be part of the tag team division. As far as a partner she would love to have either Ember Moon or Bianca Belair. This comes as no surprise as she has voiced this before, but with the Women’s Tag Team Championship shining bright, there is a prize in sight.
Because Moon is currently out due to injury indefinitely, Belair seems to be the current plausible option. Although the lineage of the tag titles is still fairly short it would still be historic if Naomi and Belair would become the first African American team to win that gold.
She further explains that most of the time she has been thrown into a tag team has always been a makeshift team. A team that had to be made in order to fulfill a need for one. The history of the Funkadactyls aside, this is a pretty plausible statement.
