Naomi demands a match; Becky Lynch crashes Bianca Belair’s homecoming

Naomi is no longer playing games.

It has been nearly a month since Naomi has returned to SmackDown and WWE Official Sonya Deville keeps pushing her to the side. Since returning to SmackDown, Naomi has been ready to get back into the ring. However, for whatever reason, Deville feels like she doesn’t belong or measure up for the brand.

Every week, Deville keeps giving excuses why Naomi can’t be booked in a match. She normally says that there isn’t enough time or she is too busy, and for Naomi to check back in with her the following week. Deville tried the same this week, but this time it was a different Naomi. She wasn’t playing nice anymore and after listing off her accomplishments, she backed Deville into a wall.

Shortly after this backstage encounter, commentary stated that they were informed that Naomi has been “fined” for insubordination.

SmackDown this week was in Knoxville, Tennessee which means they were in Bianca Belair‘s hometown. After receiving a very warm welcome back and being recognized for her accomplishments this year, Belair was in the main event spot for a homecoming.

Hosted by WWE Hall of Famer and Mayor of Knox County, Kane, Belair soaked up the much-deserved applause. After feeling confident that she will win back the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules, Kane presented Belair with the key to the county.

It didn’t take long for the current SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch to crash the celebration. She of course wanted Belair to believe she was there to congratulate her and let her have her moment. After a reluctant handshake, Belair wouldn’t allow Lynch to leave the ring. Despite it being Belair who wouldn’t let Lynch leave so quickly, it was the EST who wounded up on the mat after a Manhandle Slam.

Liv Morgan & Toni Storm also took on Carmella & Zelina Vega. The match ended in a count-out in favor of Morgan & Storm. Carmella and Morgan will face each other at Extreme Rules. You can click here for more.
