It was previously announced that Natalya and Alexa Bliss were heading to Saudi Arabia for a potential match at the Super ShowDown event. The rumor was that the match would potential occur and that WWE was simply waiting on Saudi Arabia’s government for approval. Now that the show is over we know the match never took place.
According to Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer, it was originally reported by the government that the match would happen. This was later retracted. WWE’s hopes in creating a cultural shift are left on the back burner, at least for now. WWE is returning to Saudi Arabia in November.
The women were however included with the male superstars to visit a local children’s hospital. Natalya shared pictures on her Twitter account from the visit.
