Ever since their departure from Impact Wrestling earlier this year, rumors have been swirling that wrestling power couple Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett were under WWE’s radar.
According to a new report from PWInsider (via WrestleZone), fans may soon see the couple on WWE television as early as this weekend! According to the report, the couple have been signed to the WWE since April with initial plans of making their debut at NXT TakeOver: Orlando.
Those plans were scrapped and the couple are now expected to join the main roster as part of the SmackDown brand this coming Tuesday with a chance of making their debut at Sunday’s Money in the Bank. The pair are expected to be involved in a feud upon their WWE arrival but so far no word on who that will be against.
Maria worked for the WWE from 2004 to 2010, debuting as part of the first televised Diva Search. She would later debut in Ring of Honor in late 2011 alongside Bennett, who was with ROH since 2008. The pair made their Impact debut at the start of 2016 and in the same year captured the Knockouts and X-Division Championship respectively.
