The NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships have changed hands during Saturday’s NXT Stand & Deliver event. Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez defeated Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) with an assist from Wendy Choo to become the new champions. This ends Dolin & Jayne’s reign at 158-days, which makes them the longest reigning team thus far.
Gonzalez and Kai became friends and tag team partners again on last week’s NXT 2.0 making their heated rivalry a thing of the past. During the Stand & Deliver Kick-Off show, Gonzalez and Kai won the belts for a second time. The first was when they were awarded the belts as inaugural champions in 2021. Their reign at that time never got off the ground as they lost the belts on the same night against Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart.
The final moments of the match had Choo come out on the ramp where Dolin was on the outside of the ring. Choo smacked Dolin in the head with her pillow before tossing her orange soda in the face of the now former champion. Gonzalez makes sure that Dolin is out of the equation by hitting her with a big boot. Jayne is distracted in the ring from this as Kai gathers herself.
A Scorpion Kick by Kai to Jayne was followed up by a running kick in the corner before putting her away for the victory and the change of titleholders.
More is to come from Stand & Deliver as Mandy Rose will be defending her NXT Women’s Title against Cora Jade, Kay Lee Ray, and Io Shirai in a Fatal 4-way. Will Rose be able to keep gold in Toxic Attraction or will we have a new champion?
